Ohanyan’s Manti is an ancient Central Asian cuisine that is enjoyed by many cultures throughout the Mediterranean and Central Asia. It is a dumpling stuffed with seasoned beef, similar to Italian Tortellini. The blend of spices and meat makes manti a savory pasta dish. Great with garlic yogurt and tomato sauce or any of your favorite pasta sauces. May be baked for added crispiness  or prepared traditionally.

    Serve with plain yogurt or plain yogurt mixed with crushed fresh garlic, then top Manti with melted hot butter or your favorite sauce and enjoy.

    INSTRUCTIONS:
    Bring 4 cups of water to rolling boil in large saucepan. Add some salt or 2 cubes of beef bouillon. Add Manti stir occasionally. After boiling process continue for 4-5 minutes. Pour yogurt/garlic sauce over cooked Manti. Sprinkle with tomato sauce. Serve hot. 

    SUGGESTED SAUCE FOR MANTI:
    In a small saucepan add 1ea. 8oz. can tomato sauce to 1/3 cube melted butter or margarine. Add chili pepper powder and a dash salt to taste. Add 1 or 2 cloves minced garlic to 1/2 cup plain yogurt. Stir until smooth. Spoon yogurt over cooked Manti. Spoon tomato sauce over yogurt.
